Boomcycle Digital Marketing teamed up with Executive Base Network (EBN), a San Ramon office space provider, to help them grow their business from September 2023 to February 2025.
EBN offers private office space, virtual office plans, and meeting rooms to an increasingly competitive market.
Our mission was clear: attract more clients to rent their spaces and subscribe to their services in a landscape undergoing dramatic transformation.
The Challenges: A Tough Market in San Ramon
EBN faced a perfect storm of market disruption.
San Ramon’s office market collapsed when Chevron began relocating its headquarters to Houston in 2024, abandoning significant portions of Bishop Ranch’s 6 million square feet of commercial space.
The exodus left a vacuum of empty offices throughout the area.
Competition intensified as Bishop Ranch launched BR Studios, a direct competitor to EBN’s coworking model.
Meanwhile, two large Regus locations and a behemoth WeWork facility with 86,000 square feet and capacity for 1,300 desks saturated the market with alternatives.

When we began our partnership in September 2023, EBN maintained 39 occupied offices out of 51 total spaces—a respectable 76.5% occupancy rate. Yet this wasn’t enough to withstand the coming market pressure.
Our client needed a strategy to defy the downward trajectory affecting the entire region.
What Boomcycle Digital Marketing Did for EBN
Boomcycle implemented a three-pronged approach to elevate EBN’s digital presence and convert interest into occupancy:
Website Makeover: We completely reimagined EBN’s online experience, creating an intuitive interface with faster load times, a mobile-friendly UI, and prominent call-to-action buttons like “Book a Tour” and “Sign Up Now” to drive conversions. We also called out EBN’s heretofore unmentioned killshot: they are the low-price leader in office space in San Ramon!
Local SEO Boost: We optimized EBN’s digital footprint to dominate local search results for a variety of keywords like “meeting room rentals” and “office space in San Ramon” through strategic listing management and hyper-local keyword targeting.
Google Ads: We deployed targeted advertising campaigns to capture immediate demand, focusing on San Ramon and surrounding communities where potential clients were actively searching for office and meeting solutions.
Primarily, we really wanted EBN to show up in the Google Maps listing. Even if it said “SPONSORED”, we still wanted to be there, as Regus and WeWork seemed unmovable.
The Results: Big Wins for EBN
By February 2025, the transformation was undeniable.
EBN’s occupied offices jumped from 39 to 47, reducing vacancies from 12 to merely 4—a remarkable 20.5% increase in rentals and 66.7% reduction in empty spaces. Overall occupancy soared to 92.2%, dramatically outperforming market averages during a regional downturn.

Virtual office revenue expanded by 8.6% overall, with basic Virtual Office plans surging an astounding 126.2%. EBN Starter plans grew by 11.6%.
Supplementary services became significant revenue generators.
Mail Notification services grew 104.4%, while Mail Forwarding Weekly increased 65.0%, contributing to a 26.1% boost in ancillary revenue.
Perhaps most impressive was the explosion in meeting room utilization. Monthly conference room revenue skyrocketed 146.2%, climbing from $1,797.50 to $4,425.33.

Why It Worked
Success amid adversity rarely happens by accident.
Even as Chevron’s departure flooded the market with vacant space and formidable competitors vied for the remaining demand, EBN thrived through strategic digital positioning. The revitalized website streamlined the customer journey, making discovery and conversion frictionless. Targeted local SEO ensured EBN appeared precisely when and where potential clients were searching.
Google Ads captured immediate interest, converting searches into bookings with remarkable efficiency.
EBN recognized the shifting paradigm in workplace preferences—the growing demand for hybrid solutions that balance remote work flexibility with occasional access to professional environments.
By emphasizing virtual offices and meeting rooms, they aligned perfectly with emerging work patterns.
Context Matters: Growing Against the Current
Not every case study presents a zero-to-hero transformation. The true measure of success often lies in understanding the contextual challenges surrounding a business.
In EBN’s case, this context is critical. While millions of square feet of office space flooded the San Ramon market—driving down occupancy rates across the region—Boomcycle’s strategic initiatives helped EBN achieve the opposite trajectory.
They didn’t just maintain their position; they grew significantly against overwhelming market pressure.
This countertrend success represents a more impressive achievement than explosive growth in a booming market. EBN’s ability to expand while competitors struggled to maintain occupancy demonstrates the exceptional effectiveness of targeted digital marketing in even the most challenging environments.
A Happy Conclusion
In an environment where failure seemed almost predestined, EBN’s occupancy surged from 76.5% to 92.2%, accompanied by significant revenue growth across multiple service categories.
This remarkable turnaround—achieved while the San Ramon market reeled from Chevron’s departure and faced saturated competition from industry giants—demonstrates the transformative power of strategic digital marketing.
EBN’s success story proves that with the right digital strategy, businesses can not only survive but thrive, regardless of market headwinds.
