Boomcycle Digital Marketing helps businesses in San Rafael and across Marin County show up on Google, run Google Ads they can measure, and build websites that turn a visit into a phone call. We’re based in San Ramon in the East Bay, and I’ve been doing this since 2003.
The Census Bureau counted 10,049 business establishments with paid employees in Marin County in 2023, and that’s before you add the one-person shops. San Rafael is the county seat and the biggest city, but customers search from Novato all the way down to Sausalito. Google weighs how close a business is to the person searching, so being easy to find in downtown San Rafael isn’t the same as being easy to find in Mill Valley.
A dentist in Novato and a law office on Fourth Street have the same problem. If a customer finds somebody else first, that’s who gets the call. I built Boomcycle to be the agency I’d want to hire if I ran your business. Here’s what that means day to day.

Be the business Marin County customers find for what you sell, in the regular results and in the AI answers that now sit above them.

On a “near me” search, the map decides who gets the call. We work to put you in those top three spots.

Custom websites that load fast, read well on a phone and make it easy to call you, with SEO built in from the first page.

Calls and form fills this month while your rankings build, with every dollar reported in plain numbers.

Not sure where your budget should go first? A strategy session gets you a plan you can run with, whether we run it or you do.

See which calls, forms and sales came from which channel, so you stop paying for the ones that don’t bring in customers.

Articles and pages that answer what your customers are asking, written so Google and AI tools can quote you.

Video and drone footage that shows your business at its best, made for your website, YouTube and social ads.

Search catches people who already want what you sell. Social puts you in front of the ones who don’t know it yet.
Plenty of Marin County businesses have a website that photographs well and does nothing. Visitors land, look around and leave without calling.
My team designs and builds custom websites for San Rafael and Marin County businesses that load fast and make it easy to call or ask for a quote, even on a phone. SEO goes in from the first page instead of being bolted on after launch, so buyers can find the site from day one. Accessibility goes in from the start too, because in California an inaccessible site can get a business sued.
Most business websites we build start at $5.5K, and I’ll tell you what yours needs before you invest a dime.

A Google Ads account nobody’s watching can burn a month’s budget on searches that were never going to buy. My team runs Google Ads management for San Rafael and Marin County businesses with one goal: more calls and form fills for the money.
More than you might expect for a county of 262,321 people. The Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns counted 10,049 business establishments with paid employees in Marin County in 2023, and that number doesn’t include one-person shops. San Rafael, with 61,271 people in the 2020 Census, and Novato, with 53,225, are the two biggest cities. That’s a lot of businesses chasing the same customers, which is why showing up on the map in your part of the county matters so much.
If you do work inside the city, yes. San Rafael has an out-of-town business license for businesses based elsewhere, like contractors and gardeners. It’s usually issued by the quarter, with tax based on what you earned in San Rafael that quarter, and you don’t need one for a quarter with no work there. Businesses located in the city renew every year, by February 15 for most.
Yes, with a home business permit and a City business license. Only people who live in the home can work in the business, you can use up to 25% of the home for it, and the City says processing usually takes about 4 weeks. On Google, a home-based business that doesn’t see customers at home should list a service area and hide the address.
Yes, as a service-area business. Google says you should hide your address if customers don’t come to you, then list up to 20 service areas by city or ZIP code, so San Rafael, Novato, Mill Valley and Sausalito can all go on the list. You can’t use a radius, and Google says the whole area shouldn’t stretch much past about 2 hours of driving from where you’re based. Local SEO does the rest.
Yes, and businesses with a physical location carry the most risk. California’s Civil Rights Department says courts have applied the Unruh Act’s accessibility rules to websites tied to businesses with physical locations, and the damages start at $4,000 per offense, plus attorney’s fees. It’s much cheaper to build a site right than to defend one.
They can. California’s wiretap law, Penal Code section 631, still lets private plaintiffs sue, with damages of $5,000 per violation. SB 690, signed September 30, 2026 and taking effect January 1, 2027, narrows a different kind of claim and leaves section 631 alone. The safe setup is one where tracking waits for a visitor’s consent. Your attorney should have the final word.
